When you purchase HandMap software you are purchasing a license to use the software on your PDA. This license does not expire - you may continue to use the software for as long as you like. Each purchase represents a single license to use the software on one PDA. You can transfer the license to another PDA but only one PDA at a time may have the software installed. For example if you upgrade your PDA you may uninstall the program from your old PDA and install it on your new PDA.
To date, all software updates have been free. It is our intention to continue to make all future upgrades free to existing owners of the software. Simply download the latest version of the program from our web site and install it over the top of the previous version. Your keys should be valid for to register/unlock future versions of the program.
Your software license is non-transferrable to other people. You cannot sell it or give it to another person. You can purchase the software for another person as a gift but you must notify us of this by email at the time of purchase. If you sell your PDA you must remove the software before handing it over. The license cannot be transferred with the PDA to another person.
We are happy for you to upgrade or crossgrade your PDA. It doesn’t matter if you purchased the software for a Palm or PocketPC. You can change from, or to, either type of PDA in the future. Just download the appropriate software and install it. If the Owner Name/User Name is the same on each PDA type then the key will also be valid.
Our software is available to try before you buy with a number of sample maps before you decide whether to buy it or not. We encourage you to do this to make sure the software is right for you. There are so many different types of hardware it is not always possible to ensure complete compatibility with them all. Trying the program is the best way to ensure compatibility with your particular hardware.
If you purchase the program and it does not meet the expectation you had prior to purchase you may delete the program and request a refund. Since you can try the program before you buy then we hope there should be few surprises. If you cannot get the program to function correctly or are not satisfied then please request a refund within 2 weeks of the purchase date.
Please note that our software and maps are sold separately. You must buy both the software and the maps. The only exception is the US County maps product - this does not require you to purchase the software, it will work without HandMap being registered. There are also a few free maps, called overview maps, that you do not need to purchase - they come for free when you purchase the software.
