After you purchase HandMap you need to follow this procedure to register HandMap. Registration enables all features within HandMap on our PDA. Before you register HandMap it is in trial mode. Note that there is only one download for HandMap - when running, it is either in trial mode or registered mode.
Download HandMap Download the latest version of the HandMap program from our web site.
If you already have the latest version of the program installed you may skip this step.
Unzip the Program The program files are compressed in an archive called a ZIP file. You need to unzip the files using any unzip utility such as WinZIP.
Install to Palm Use the Palm Install Tool to queue the program files for installation to your Palm. Then HotSync your Palm. You should choose to install the program and map files to RAM on your Palm (Not and expansion card). You must to install the files - handmap.prc, categories.pdb. You may optionally install - gps-plugin.pdb (GPS functionality), addr-plugin.pdb (Address Book integration), NY-Sample.pdb (Small sample map), MathLib.prc (For more accurate distance calculations).
Run HandMap on your Palm The main HandMap home screen should display (this has 6 large buttons and the HandMap logo).
Get the Serial Number Tap on the large Register button. In the center of the screen will be shown a Serial Number. The serial number begins with a #, has numbers, and a letter on the end.
Login to the Member Area Use the Member ID and Access Code supplied to login to our Member Area.
Do not confuse the Access Code with the serial number of key.
Enter the Serial Number Go to the Setup Page of the member area and enter the serial number from your PDA. This will be recorded in your member details and used for all subsequent logins. If this has already been entered for previous products in this member ID then you don’t need to enter it again.
Enter Key to Register HandMap Once you enter the serial number into the member area click on Setup Done. This will take you to the Main Page. Here you will be shown a list of your products. All program products you have purchased will now show a Key. The Key is 8 characters long and includes digits and the letters A-F. Go back to your PDA and enter this Key into the Registration screen. HandMap is now in registered mode and all features are unlocked.
